Tim JacksonThe very fabric of the Iowa landscape is rich with wrestling stories. Telling the story of Iowa, her wrestlers and fans is the challenge that documentary filmmaker Tim Jackson has assigned himself.
This fall, Tim will move from Athens, Ohio and the School of Film at the University of Ohio to Marshalltown, Iowa. There he'll begin to pour himself in the magic waters of the sport Iowans hold so dear. The documentary is called Wrestling with Iowa. Filmmaker Tim Jackson brings us up to date on this interesting project.
About the Director
Tim Jackson started his professional photography career in the field of sports, shooting all four major league sports (NBA, MLB, NFL, NFL) for numerous trading card companies and national publications. He was a contract photographer for Topps, Donruss, Pacific Trading Cards, and Score. Jackson also covered World Cup skiing, college football & basketball and competitive cheerleading for several years. He has been a Photo Editor for SKI Magazine and a contract photographer for World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE).
Jackson then jumped into the world of editorial portraiture, or making images of people for magazines. He quickly became a specialist in working with people with short attention spans…namely musicians, CEO's, governors and celebrities. His works appeared on the pages of People, Country Music Weekly, Spin, Rolling Stone and numerous others.
Currently, he has traded in his still photography experience for cinematography and is pursuing a Masters degree in Film Production at Ohio University.
