Joe Galante goes into his second year as the Head Coach at The College of New Jersey Lions with several important accomplishments under his belt.


1) He had his first National Champion last year in Mike Denver.

2) 2 Others participated in the Parade of All-Americans Dan Herr (Rockaway, NJ/Morris Knolls)who finished fifth at 133 pounds and classmate John Darling (Moorestown, NJ/Moorestown)who finished sixth at 157.

3) The combination of all three performances elevated the Lions to a sixth-place finish in the team standings with 47 points. Wartburg College won the team title for the second straight year.

4) By placing in the top 10, that earned Lion head coach Joe Galante Rookie Coach of the Year honors from the National Wrestling Coaches Association.
